Small test of earth curvature

I'll save a few notes again just in case, because this one would be worth repeating!

Three countries in one day

It's a nice landscape here, so I thought I'd stuff as much of it as possible into one day!

I'm not an ultra-crazy person who swallows two kilos every day... between us, today I'm even happy to swallow twenty in a day. But somehow my riding at that time got to the point, where the best idea I could have - at least once in my life, to get up normally early in the morning and experience something. There were of course several complications along the way to that idea, the first of which was the day before, when geography came up to discussion again (yes, the one in which I got C at school) and I couldn't understand why planning on great local planner on www.mapy.cz was heading me to Austria, when I didn't want to go to Austria and I constantly had the strange feeling that I had to go another more straight direction after all.

I set my alarm to 4:00 AM to be on my way by 4:30, the math of the ride was relentless! Like an old exam-fever, I don't sleep much, I just pretend it so that at 4:00 in the morning I realize that I have a strange pain in my throat and that I'm not feeling well, all the adrenaline is gone, I'm skipping obviously the ride, when after all I'm clearly sick! I keep turning in bed for a while and I start to feel so sorry that I get up at 6:00 AM with the decision TO GO. As a doughface I feel sorry for myself for a while, but then "don't be such a p...y" prevail, I pack everything I prepared the day before and finally go. I'm starting with my hometown Řevničák climb to warm up, I would like to fire it up and catch up the missed time as I need to hurry, but kind of rather slowly, but at the same time as fast as possible!

The first hill after Řevničák comes around Monínec, so it is actually probably the first and last hill of the entire journey that I can remember! All the route was actually more or less all downhill, even the map above indicates this, right? But as I said, the geography was never my thing ... it is very nice around Monínec hill, I will return here a few more times in the following years for the enduro line, but it is beautiful there on the roads as well! The section and region between Strmilov and Dačice takes my breath away.

There comes also a tyre defect, luckily no milk back then, so I change a tube in the old fashioned way and still stay clean.

But to cut it short a bit, I don't remember it that well anymore, but one thing accompanied me on the way all day - we as a Czechs really drink a lot of alcohol and there are regions and villages where we probably don't even stop or slow down! I thought maybe it was a coincidence, that it was a public holiday or something... You know I'm no saint, of course I have behind me a hard school years spent at Na Zborově in Strakonice (famous beer pub of 4 category) right next to the local brewery, so I don't want it to sound like I don't wish it on anyone, on the contrary, but it's true that a worn-out male figure in elastics begging constantly about water or coca-cola, it seemed strongly grotesque, rather bizarre, that I was really close to throwing the bike into the ditch by the road, also taking my working clothes and joining the afternoon meditation in the local pubs with all the neighbours. The power of the crowd is huge.

But I already have my mission today, I just fly through the Austria, I only notice that they really clean up the countryside, I arrive in Slovakia, again someone trying to drag me to a pub and pours something to cheer, it starts to get dark, the fun goes away, on the other hand, the deers do not go by the wayside very much, I am totally exhausted, maybe I was not trained that much as I thought, any reminds at all that I was "sick" in the morning, I'm beat it up, arriving around midnight.

It's been a few years now (7x years to be exact), but some images of that trip are under my skin like back then, it was probably much more of a cultural than a sporting experience at the end of the day!

We have a truly nice landscapes here, really nice! The test of the hypothesis came out positive and I'm done with long-distance riding!
